Painting one hundred dresses for ArtPrize is not as easy and quick as one might think. OK, I knew it would be a time consuming endeavor. Since the deadline is SOON, I’m looking for ways to speed up the process. Screen printing, rubber stamp, fabric dye are a few ways I can think of making the dress factory production go quicker and maintain my sanity. Here are a few sites I may explore in the next few days:

I’ll add more later.

hours and hours have been devoted to designing, organizing and painting the set for India’s school play Alice in Wonderland. She is not even in the play. The Reward: not much except I love doing it, I find it challenging and it is better than folding laundry. I’m learning a ton about scale. The canvas backdrop measures about 25 feet by 9 feet! I can’t wait to see it all put together.

Last night, Mike and Emil set up the projector and adhered orange color coded labels to our kitchen wall. India was helping too but stormed off to bed because she didn’t appreciate Emil’s superior behavior. Guess how many circle labels.

Mike is a busy guy. Especially for fun home projects. So when he gets an idea, or obsession, it is best to let him run with it. A few days ago we were discussing patterns and logos and math and other things that sometimes hurt my head. While I prefer the random placement of dots, due to laziness of course, he likes to use Adobe software to create mathematically correct patterns that are nothing short of beautiful. While I was busy playing sudoku or klondike in bed, Mike stayed up late creating these gems: spiralart4.jpgspiralart3.jpgspiralart2.jpgspiralart1.jpg
